Visit: Israel Museum, 11 Derekh Ruppin, Jerusalem 9543500 Israel
The objects on display at the Israel Museum cover a wide range of topics, eras, and fields. Our audio guides afford you the flexibility to choose the exhibition you want to explore and enjoy the artifacts and displays at your own pace. Our audio guides will take you along a number of routes, according to your choice: a highlights tour featuring archeological finds and artworks from the Museum’s collections; an in-depth tour of the Dead Sea Scrolls; tours of exhibitions, and much more. The guides are in English as well as other languages, and are included in the entrance fee.
The Museum is home to:
• The Shrine of the Book, housing the 2,000 year-old Dead Sea Scrolls, which include the oldest biblical texts in the world. The complex also includes the Model of Jerusalem in the Second Temple Period, allowing visitors to see how Jerusalem looked at the height of its glory, when Rabbinic Judaism took shape and Christianity was born.
• The Archaeology Wing, whose galleries display the most extensive holdings of biblical and Holy Land archaeology in the world. Through unique artifacts, visitors can explore the story of the ancient Land of Israel: the birthplace of monotheism and home to peoples of different cultures and faiths.
• The Wing for Jewish Art and Life, presenting the religious and secular culture of Jewish communities worldwide, from the Middle Ages to the present day.
• The Fine Arts Wing, reflecting the wide-ranging nature of the Museum’s art collections, encompassing works of art from across the ages and around the globe, as well as representing the latest developments in international and Israeli art.
• The Billy Rose Art Garden, designed as a unique blend of Zen principles, Mediterranean setting, and Western art, and considered one of the world’s great sculpture gardens. Including works by Pablo Picasso, James Turrell, Moshe Kadishman, and Henry Moore, as well as Robert Indiana’s well-known sculpture Ahava (“love”).
• The Ruth Youth Wing for Art Education, featuring special exhibitions and a wide range of programs for children and the whole family.
