Canoe Expedition in the Rio Frio
1 day
Lisätietoja aktiviteetista
The Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge and the Rio Frío are biological areas considered to be some of the richest in biological diversity in Costa Rica. Here you can find a great variety of resident and migratory birds, plus three different species of monkeys and iguanas, sloths, turtles and caymans. An experienced English - Spanish speaking guide will lead you on this canoe expedition where it is possible to see hundreds of birds, especially during the dry season. Some of them are Anhingas, Roseate Spoonbill, Wood Storks and the Jabiru (the largest bird in Central America and very endangered). Also the Olivaceous Cormorant which nests in the area. Along the river we can see howler monkeys, spider monkeys, white-faced monkeys, also the three-toed sloth and some reptiles like caimans, Jesus Christ lizards and turtles. This trip includes a typical Costa Rican lunch, regional fruit, natural juices and coffee, all served for our client’s comfort at our Río Frío Restaurant; natural juices, bottled water, fruits and cookies are also included during the canoe expedition.
