Teide South Cycling Tour in Tenerife

We ride on the TF21 from Granadilla to Vilaflor, which is probably the most stunning climb on the island, before we stop for supplies. After Vilaflor, the climbing continues through the Coronal Forest towards the majestic Teide. As we approach 2000 metres above sea level the air becomes a little thinner as the challenge becomes more intense. At Retamar we drop down in to the crater for a tour of the National Park and World Heritage site. We head towards the famous Parador Hotel, home of the pro teams when they´re riding on the island, with its amazing views of the mountain.

After the climb back out of the crater we regroup before the big descent back via El Fronton to our start point for a delicious Canarian lunch that awaits us at base camp Club Activo! The tour concludes at the home of our good friends-Bike Point in Las Americas.

It is important for riders to ride at their own speed when cycling in mountainious Tenerife! During the ride we will assess the level of the riders and stronger riders will have the chance to go faster and further, whilst the other riders will go slower and cover less distance. This format allows us to regroup at lunch together and return to base at our target time.

Choose from 3 levels to suit your ability and experience, but don't worry, we are always flexible on the day to ensure you get the most out of your day:

Level 1 (Intermediate)
• Distance: 68 kilometres
• Climbing meters: 1420 metres
• Tour Rating: Physical 3/3 Technical: 2/3

Level 2 (Advanced)
• Distance: 66-85 kilometres
• Climbing meters: 1960-2170 metres
• Tour Rating: Physical 3/3 Technical: 2/3

Level 3 (Pro, upon request only)
• Distance: 88-104 kilometres
• Climbing meters: 2660-2920 metres
